Abstract

This article describes and analyses the conditional mood as one distinguishable mood in Northern Sotho. This sub-category of the verb has not yet been thoroughly investigated by grammarians of this language, although there are some who regard it as one of the moods in Northern Sotho. In this presentation some of the salient features of this mood will be discussed, by comparing it to two other moods, i.e. the consecutive and the situative.
