Abstract

The response of unthinned Eucalyptus grandis to initial stand density ranging from 25 to 6 670 stems per hectare up to 22 years of age is described using simple quadratic functions. This method resulted in distorted estimates of growth parameters at the extremities of both stocking level and age. The results are presented graphically as response surfaces in respect of DBH, height, tree volume and stand volume.
