A SKEW-PRODUCT WITH SIMPLE SINGULAR SPECTRUM

Abstract

Using the method of approximation in Ergodic Theory we first prove a general result giving conditions for a skew product to be ergodic and have simple and singular spectrum. Using this result we explicitly construct a skew product over a rotation with rotations in the tibres which is ergodic and has simple and singular spectrum.
