Iqhaza elibanjwe umdlalo kamabonakude uShaka iLembe ukuthuthukisa nokulondoloza ulimi lwesiZulu

Abstract

Ulimi luyisikhali sanoma isiphi isizwe. Ukushabalala kolimi kusho ukushabalala komlando waleso sizwe ngoba ulimi lugqamisa ubunjalo bomuntu nokwehlukana kwaleso sizwe kwezinye. Ulimi ilona thuluzi elenza umuntu azazi ukuthi ungubani futhi uvela ngaphansi kwasiphi isizwe. Lolu cwaningo luqukethe umnyombo mayelana neqhaza elibanjwe umdlalo kamabonakude osihloko sithi uShaka iLembe ekuthuthukiseni nasekulondolozeni ulimi lwesiZulu. Inhloso yalolu cwaningo ukubheka umyalezo okuqethwe ilo mdlalo kanye negxathu eliwuhambile ukuthuthukisa kanye nokulondoloza ulimi lwesiZulu. Lolu cwaningo lusebenzise luqhutshwe kusetshenziswa indlela yocwaningoluhlonze (qualitative) ukuqoqa ulwazi ngalokhu osekubhaliwe ngomdlalo weLembe, kulandela ukuphawula kwabalandeli bawo kanye nalokhu okwenzeka bukhoma ngesikhathi udlalwa. Lolu cwaningo lwesekwe injulalwazi yokuhlelwa kolimi i-language management theory (LMT) ukuphenya nokucubungula ngamaqiniso ngokusetshenziswa kolimi lwesiZulu emdlalweni uShaka iLembe abacwaningi abakubuka njengendlela yokuthuthukisa kanye nokulondolozwa kolimi lwesiZulu. Ucwaningo luhlaziywe ngendlela yokuhlunga ulwazi ngokwezigaba (thematic coding). Lolu cwaningo luthole ukuthi nakuba umdlalo uShaka iLembe”ugxile kakhulu ekufundiseni ngomlando wabantu abangamaZulu kuyavela ukuthi baqhakambisa ukusetshenziswa kolimi lwesiZulu, ikakhulukazi izimo zokukhuluma okuyizisho, izaga kanye nolimi lokuhlonipha. Lokho kuveza ukuthi basebenzisa isiZulu esijiyile nesinothile ukuqhakambisa isiZulu soqobo.
