Abstract

This article subjects the works of Monyaise and Mmileng to intertextuality. The approach introduces and applies to literature two concepts of intertextuality viz. host and parasite. These concepts will be assigned to Monyaise and Mmileng respectively; where Monyaise is viewed as the ‘host’ and Mmileng as the ‘parasite’. In some cases, this order is reversed or deconstructed, where the host acts as the parasite and the parasite as the host.
