Abstract

Although black stinkwood is rated South Africa's most valued carpentry wood, it is ironic that it is so difficult to propagate. Experiments done on Ocotea bullata at the Pretoria National Botanical Garden has shown that the tree can be propagated vegetatively and rooted cuttings can be successfully transplanted.
