Abstract

We studied sexual responsibility among Mozambican adults living in the area of Maputo (n=451; Mozambican age range = 18–35 years; females= 218; males = 233). Participants completed the Sexual Practice/Sexual Responsibility scale (Hendrick & Hendrick, 1987,1995). Data were analyzed using descriptive and ANOVA, factorial analyses and correlation coefficients. Findings suggest that Mozambique adults consider STI prevention and birth control an important part of responsible sexuality. These findings are similar to those from Europeans samples of same age and gender composition.
