Abstract

The study investigated the types of violence and the effect on children's education in Kakamega district, Kenya. Participants were 150 children (58 males, 92 females; age range up to 17 years). Data were collected using a questionnaire. Analysis was done using descriptive statistics (frequencies and percentages). The study found that most victims of violence were female. All males suffered neglect while most females suffered sexual abuse. Both forms of violence interfered with schooling.
