Application of Richards's growth model to Brown-headed Parrot Poicephalus cryptoxanthus nestlings

Abstract

We generated a generalised growth curve for the Brown-headed Parrot Poicephalus cryptoxanthus. The growth model correlated well with the data from captive-bred chicks and should be used by ecologists and aviculturists to monitor the health of chicks, parental performance or disease and parasitism.
