General decay results for a nonlinear Viscoelastic Timoshenko system

Abstract

In this paper, we focus on the Timoshenko viscoelastic system associated with a nonlinear term. The general stability is established by means of the energy method under the assumption of equal speeds, leading to an energy decay rate that includes exponential and polynomial stabilities as particular cases. Our results improve and generalize previous findings in the literature.
