Abstract

In this article I deal with ‘place’ and ‘time’ in I.T. Maditsi's short stories as the two most important aspects of setting. The place aspect is treated on two levels: space as a place of action; and space as acting place. Concerning ‘time’, both the convoluted and the chronological (straightforward) time presentation are looked into. The article concludes by looking into some of the important functions of setting in the short story.
