Abstract

An attempt is made to give a picture of art involved in the narration of intsomi. Every narrator is an artist. She has her own style of narrating. The story can be dull or interesting depending on the manner of narration. Each narrator uses her own words and phrases. Jordan says ‘…though a tale may be repeated over and over again it can never be quite the same tale each time. Each individual artist squeezes his brush just that little more or less than the previous one.’ The discussion is based on the story of a girl called Nonzame who loses her way to her mother's place and is helped by a dog who gives her shelter. This intsomi is given in an appendix.
