Abstract

The Land Expectation Value criterion has been used since 1849 to calculate the value of forestry land. It was, however, developed in a static financial environment, and is no longer suitable for land valuation in today's dynamic financial environment. This criterion is adjusted to provide for the variable behaviour of different prices, as well as for tree species such as Eucalyptus grandis for which coppice regeneration is occasionally used.
