Item type: Journal Article • Journal: South African Forestry Journal
An evaluation of Suzuki's concept of Gentan probabilities is presented. Model fitting is discussed in some detail. It is shown that the Gentan method is suitable only for forests that are at least close to normality.

Growth analysis and photosynthetic rates in three selected grass species in the burkea‚Äźeragrostis savanna

Three major grass species of the Nylsvley study site were studied: Eragrostis pallens. Digitaria eriantha and Panicum maximum. Growth analysis for the peak growth season was carried out with respect to phytomass, biomass and necromass.

Adaptability of great cormorants Phalacrocorax carbo in a coastal environment demonstrated by their exploitation of introduced prey species and use of artificial breeding sites

Item type: Journal Article • Journal: South African Journal of Marine Science
An analysis of the contents of regurgitations of great cormorant Phalacrocorax carbo chicks at two coastal colonies in South Africa, one on an offhore island (St Croix) and the other at a saltworks in an estuary (Swartkops), revealed that the...
